Yakisoba(Japanese Fried Noodles With Pork and Vegetables) RecipeCreate stunning Japanese home dishes!

Yakisoba is Japanese stir fried noodles.
It is served with Yakisoba sauce, similar to Tonkatsu or Okonomiyaki sauce.
Yakisoba is usually fried with sliced pork and vegetables like cabbage and bean sprouts.
It is a very popular casual food (or snack) everyone likes in Japan.
You can find Yakisoba at many places like Okonomiyaki restaurants, festivals, supermarket delis, and of course, home.

Ingredients(For two people)

1/3 lb (150g) pork, thinly sliced
1 small onion
2 C cabbage, cut into about 2" squares
2 C bean sprouts
1/2 small carrot
1/4 green bell pepper
1 Tbsp oil
Aonori
Benishoga
2 packages Chuka Men (Chinese style noodles)
salt and pepper

Yakisoba Sauce:
3 Tbsp Tonkatsu sauce
2 Tbsp Worcester sauce
1/2 Tbsp soy sauce
1/2 Tbsp Mirin

How to cook it

1)Lightly loosen pre-steamed chuka noodles and set aside.
2)Heat vegetable oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Stir-fry the pork until almost cooked. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to season.
3)Add carrots, onion slices, and green bell pepper to the skillet and stir-fry for a couple of minutes. Add cabbage to the skillet and stir-fry for another minute.
4)Add noodles to skillet. Pour 1/4 cup of water over the noodles and cover the skillet. Turn down the heat to low and steam for a few minutes.
5)Remove the lid and add yakisoba sauce or seasoning powder. (Adjust the amount of sauce to your taste.) Stir the noodles quickly.
6)Divide yakisoba onto two plates. Sprinkle with aonori and beni-shoga just before serving, if using.
